Step 1: Download from CodeCanyon

  1. After Purchasing the plugin on CodeCanyon. Go to Downloads page
  2. Find the Plugin on the list and click on Green Download Button
  3. Save the zip file on your computer

Step 2: Install via WordPress Admin (wp-admin)

Please follow these steps to install via wp-admin

  1. Login as administrator to wp-admin using your username and password
  2. Go to Plugins-> Add New
  3. Click on Upload Plugin button
  4. Click on Choose File and choose the file you just downloaded from codecanyon
  5. Click on Install Now
  6. Click on Activate Plugin once the installation is done
  7. Its all, and the plugin is installed on your site now!

PDF Viewer for WordPress comes with 2 types of integration:

  1. Automatic Link / Automatic Iframe
  2. Using Shortcodes

You can use any of these 2 options according to your needs. Here's when to use which option:

This option is useful when you have lots of pdf files already linked on various pages of your site and want all these to use PDF Viewer for WordPress automatically.

You can enable Automatic Link if you want all the PDF links to be converted to a Link that will open the PDF file with PDF Viewer for WordPress.

You can use Automatic iFrame if you want all the PDF links to be converted to an iFrame containing the PDF file inside PDF Viewer for WordPress.

Using Shortcodes

PDF Viewer for WordPress comes with 5 shortcodes, which you can use on any post/page/anywhere of your site. Shortcodes can be created for individual files. Each Shortcodes have their own purpose  Here are all the shortcodes:

1. Link Shortcode [tnc-pdf-viewer-link]

This shortcode outputs a link to open the specified file with PDF Viewer. Click here to find more information and shortcode parameters of this shortcode.

2. iFrame Shortcode [tnc-pdf-viewer-iframe]

This shortcode outputs an iframe containing the specified file with PDF Viewer. Click here to find more information and shortcode parameters of this shortcode.

2. Shortlink Shortcode [tnc-pdf-viewer-shortlink]

This shortcode works similar to Link Shortcode, only difference is it has less parameters and the generated url is shorter than link shortcode and it uses settings from default options set in ThemeNcode PDF Viewer Settings page. Click here to find more information and shortcode parameters of this shortcode.

2. Raw Link Shortcode [tnc-pdf-viewer-raw-link]

This shortcode outputs a link to the specified file with PDF Viewer but without any a tag. This shortcode needs to be used inside href attribute of a tag . Click here to find more information and shortcode parameters of this shortcode.

1. Image Shortcode [tnc-pdf-viewer-image]

This shortcode is specialized to link an image to a link to the specified file containing PDF Viewer. You need to use this shortcode with an img tag. Click here to find more information and shortcode parameters of this shortcode.

 

So now, You have the plugin installed on your WordPress Website, Congrats!

After activating the plugin, you'll notice a New Menu item Just below Media called ThemeNcode PDF Viewer. This menu have a few submenus. We'll know more about submenus later. For now, Lets have a look at the settings of ThemeNcode PDF Viewer Page. Click On ThemeNcode PDF Viewer Menu.

Once you're on that page, You'll see a few sections, The options you'll be changing is under General Settings Section. Go to that section.

Once You've completed all the settings on this page, Click on Save PDF Viewer Settings  in order to save all these settings.

And you're done on this page. The next page is about changing colors of PDF Viewer.

If you want to change the overall background and Toolbar Background color of PDF Viewer for WordPress to match with your site's main color, you need this page.

Go to ThemeNcode PDF Viewer > Customize Colors Menu

In this page, You'll see a Section Called Customize Colors of Viewer.  Navigate to that section and you'll see 2 option.

And you're done on this page.

With PDF Viewer of WordPress, To make the upload process and shortcode creation process easier, We've included a PDF FIle Uploader Page. From This page you can Upload any PDF File or Select any existing File from Media Library and get direct url to that pdf file instantly just within a few clicks. You'll use the link while creating shortcodes using Tinymce Button on your post/page editor.

To Access This page, You'll have to Navigate to ThemeNcode PDF Viewer > Upload PDF File 

To Upload or Select a PDF FIle:

  1. Click on Click Here to Upload PDF FIle and Get url below button. WordPress Media Uploader Popup will appear and you can select any existing file or upload a new file. 
  2. After selecting the file, click on Get Link button on bottom right
  3. The popup will be closed and The big input box will be populated with your selected PDF FIle url
  4. Click on Copy Just beside the input box.
  5. The url will be selected and you can simply copy the url with ctrl+c
  6. Now you have the url copied to your clipboard, you can paste it in shortcode generator or anywhere you want.

PDF File Uploader

This is an option very similar to PDF File Uploader but on this page you can import a pdf file from any url just within a click. You don't have to download the file to your computer and upload it back to website. PDF Viewer for WordPress will do it for you.

To Import a PDF File from url:

Automatic Linking is an exclusive Feature of PDF Viewer for Wordpress.This option is very useful if you have a Website with a lot of pdf file links in it. In that situation, It is really hard to manually replace all these urls with new shortcode.

That's why, We've included this option. With this option, you can have all the pdf links on your website frontend open with PDF Viewer. What you'll need to do is just enable Automatic Link from ThemeNcode PDF Viewer Page.

This option will find all the pdf links on each page of your website and replace with PDF Viewer url. Let's have a look at an example url which pdf viewer will be able to replace:

If you have a link like this, PDF Viewer for WordPress will replace it with pdf viewer link.

** Only Requirement is that the href attribute must end in .pdf

1. Tinymce Button (If you're using WordPress Classic Editor)

PDF Viewer for WordPress Provides a Tinymce Button on WordPress Editor. To Access this button, Go to Add new post or Add new Page or Edit a Page/Post.

Once the Editor page is open, switch to Visual view of editor (if you're in text view) and you'll find a Tinymce button called Insert PDF Viewer Shortcode .  Clicking on that button will show the following options:

Clicking on any of these optios will open a popup with a few options. Select/write all the fields and click on Ok button Below. System will create the shortcode with your provided settings and insert into the editor!

That's how you can create PDF Viewer for WordPress Shortcodes. Pretty simple. isn't it ?

PDF Viewer for WordPress provides a few menu items to create shortcodes. All the menu items can be found under Themencode PDF Viewer Menu on your wp-admin. In this section, We'll talk about iFrame Shortcode. What it does, how to use, which parameters does it have and what is the usage of these parameters.

What is iFrame Shortcode ?

This is a shortcode that comes with PDF Viewer for WordPress Plugin. If you use this shortcode in a page, an iframe with the specified pdf file display in that place.

How to Use/Create ?

You can use the Tinymce button to generate iFrame shortcode with parameter settings. The creation process is described in the previous section called Creating Shortcodes

Syntax:

Parameters ?

This shortcode have some parameters which you need to populate with your content or select from options in the tinymce popup. So, Lets have a look which parameters this shortcode have and what are the use of each parameters:

  1. file : This is where you'll provide the url to pdf file that will be opened with PDF Viewer. Make sure you use the direct url to pdf file ending in pdf , otherwise it will not work. Also make sure the pdf files are hosted under same domain.
  2. width : Specify the Width of iFrame in pixels here. For example, you can use 600
  3. height : Specify the height of iFrame in Pixels here. For Example, you can use 800
  4. download: Select if you want to show Download button in toolbar.
  5. print : Select if you want to show Print button in toolbar.
  6. fullscreen : Select if you want to show Fullscreen button in toolbar.
  7. share : Select if you want to show Share button in toolbar.
  8. zoom : Select if you want to show Zoom option in toolbar.
  9. open : Select if you want to show Open button in toolbar.
  10. logo : Select if you want to show Logo button in toolbar. Logo will not be displayed if iFrame width is small. But will display when users go to fullscreen mode.
  11. pagenav : Select if you want to show Pagenav button in toolbar.
  12. find : Select if you want to show Find button in toolbar.
  13. page : Enter the page number if you want to send user to a specific page on opening of the file.
  14. default_zoom : Select the Default Zoom here
  15. pagemode : If you select Thumbs as pagemode, the left bar will be opened with page thumbnails and if you choose bookmarks, the left bar will be opened with list of bookmarks. It is not recommended to use as it may not work smoothly on smaller screen sizes. We've added it just because it might be helpful for some users.
  16. language : Select the language you want to use
  17. current_view :  Select if you want to show Current View button in toolbar.
  18. rotate :  Select if you want to show Rotate View button in toolbar.
  19. handtool :  Select if you want to show Hand Tool button in toolbar.
  20. doc_prop :  Select if you want to show Document Properties button in toolbar.
  21. toggle_menu :  Select if you want to show Toggle Menu button in toolbar.
  22. toggle_left :  Select if you want to show Toggle Left button in toolbar.
  23. scroll :  Select if you want to show Scroll options in toolbar.
  24. spread :  Select if you want to show Spread options in toolbar.
  25. iframe_title : Title of the iFrame tag
  26. default_scroll : Default Scroll Method, Use 1 for Vertical scrolling, Use 2 for Horizontal Scrolling and use 3 for Flip Book
  27. default_spread : Default Spread Mode, options: 1 for No Spread, 2 for Odd Spreads, 3 for Even Spreads
